Year 7 had a fantastic three day trip to the jungle in Khao Chamao National Park- it was physically and mentally challenging, and lots of fun. We set off into the jungle in the rain on the first day, on a trail that lead to two beautiful waterfalls. The trail got harder as we got further into the jungle and we needed to use a rope to help right at the top. We then hiked all the way back to our cabins, 5km away; 12 students decided to help Mr Standen out with his half marathon training and ran back with him.
On the second day we started with some much-needed stretches, before we headed off on the main trail up to the biggest waterfall in the park. We passed by more stunning waterfalls and pools on the way, and had a couple of chances to take a dip in the pools on the way back down. That afternoon we did team-building games and initiative exercises back at the campground, and in the evening - always creative - we performed short plays and comedy sketches to share our experiences of the jungle with the whole group. Our last activity was a very muddy hike into the Khao Wong Cave system where we saw bats, stalactites and yes - loads of mud. We even brought some back with us…… Thank you, Year 7, for making this such a fun and memorable trip!
