Your child will benefit from the very the best of international learning at St. Andrews, with the enquiry-based International Baccalaureate Primary Years Porgramme (IB PYP) framework integrated with the English National Curriculum.
Maths, Language, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education, Arts, Personal, Social & Health Education are all taken, following Units of Inquiry which guide studies over five to six week periods with a central theme that ties all of the subjects together. As an international school with a student and teacher body from a wide range of nationalities and cultures, our Primary students also benefit from an emphasis on world languages, with Thai, French, Mandarin and Dutch all being taught by specialist teachers, again establishing clear links to curriculum areas being covered in the classroom.
In the Primary years, more serious assessment takes place to ensure that our high expectations of the students are being met. These range from independent completion of work to written tests, depending on age group. Parents receive reports every term and formal meetings are held twice a year to enable parents to gain an in-depth understanding of their children’s progress. All the while, regular communication is made easy via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), and parents are welcome to contact the school in the event of any questions or concerns.
