An Integrated curriculum offers the best of international learning
St. Andrews Green Valley is a fully authorised IB-PYP school that runs the Primary Years Programme (PYP) from the International Baccalaureate (IB). We integrate this with the English National Curriculum which allows us to offer the very best of international learning.
The PYP is an internationally recognised and rigorously integrated programme in which inquiry is embedded into the curriculum. The academically challenging curriculum has been developed around three key questions:
- What do we want students to learn?
A written set of student skills and expectations, learning outcomes and concepts for each subject area
- How will they learn best?
Teaching and learning strategies that promote inquiry, encourage student ownership of their learning, support best educational practice and cater to the learning needs of all students ensuring student success
- How will we know what they have learned?
The use of effective and authentic assessment practices that monitor individual student progress and guide future planning and learning experiences.

PYP Exhibition in Year 6
In their final year of the PYP, students take part in a collaborative, transdisciplinary inquiry process. Students investigate, inquire into and solve problems to make a change and make the world a better place. This year our Central Idea was “Small Steps to Global Goals.”
