Island Communities (House System)
The St. Andrews International School, Green Valley Island Communities (House System) has a number of key aims, to:
- Promote personal development
- Encourage team spirit
- Assist the development of an increased sense of community and belonging
- Create a means to reward all students for their personal achievements and supports the reward system
- Encourage inter-year group friendships
- Promote a healthy sense of competition
- Develop leadership skills
- Support the IB learner profiles
All students who attend the school are a member of an 'Island'. Each Island is made up of students, teaching and non-teaching staff. There are four Island Communities that are named after Thai Islands:
- Chang (red)
- Samet (yellow)
- Samui (blue)
- Phuket (green)
Island Community points
Island Community points are awarded to students by teachers for their academic work, sports events, quizzes, drama and music competitions and generally for their behavior and effort throughout school life. Throughout the year there are competitions, which are always conducted in the spirit of friendly competition and good sportsmanship, with opportunities being given for demonstration of excellence in: the attributes of the learner profile; academics, music, sports, behaviour and other areas.
Points are achieved throughout the academic year, but broken down with running totals being announced every half term. At the end of the academic year, points for each Island are totalled and the island cup is awarded to the Island with the most points.

Island Community T-shirts are available from the Uniform Shop for purchase and are worn for all events.
