St. Andrews community dig deep to complete the 2017 Thailand Spartan Challenge

Published by Admin

The St Andrews community showed their strength and resilience at Thailand's first ever Spartan Race last weekend. What the competitors had to face was kept a closely guarded secret so the Green Valley team arrived excited but nervous. Under the baking sun around the rugged terrain, the team had to carry stones, climb huge walls, throw spears, wade through mud and crawl under barbed wire over the daunting course. And last, but not least, they leapt over the burning log and finished exhausted but happy.

There were some fantastic performances in the junior category notably Eve in year 8 coming first in her age category picking up an impressive trophy and Ksenia in Year 9 coming in the top half of the adult race! The PE staff also made us proud with Mr. Standen, Mr. Dunn and Mr. Martin coming in the top ten for their age groups. #GoTeamGV
