A review on the Youth Club's first half term
The first half term of this academic year saw the roaring success of the Youth Club’s official launch! With over 70 students engaging in the activities that the club has to offer, the Youth Club has provided an exciting environment in which students can develop their confidence and skills, all the while relaxing after a busy day at school.
The half term saw students taking part in Boxing for Fitness as well as Outdoor Slackline Walking. These sessions helped to build resilience, stamina, mobility and self-esteem across all ages and genders.
The club’s Art Mosaic Project has also proved popular and has provided an opportunity to attendees to govern the space and express their creativity. Students have been given ownership over the physical appearance of the club, and regular attendees are also starting to develop their own activity ideas!
These opportunities outside of the classroom and after a busy school day have allowed for students to work collaboratively, build new friendships, tackle feelings of isolation and creatively express themselves.
'Youth Club has become a place where I can relax and be myself. It is a space that we as students are able to mould into an environment that works best for us each and every day.'
We look forward to seeing how the Youth Club evolves in the near future!
