Solar Buddy 2019
Imagine a world where there were no bedtime stories, where families were forced to use kerosene lights that slowly poisoned them every day, where children were unable to study at home to improve their life chances, where they were worried about going to the toilet in the night because they had no lights to keep them safe. Last Friday, 60 of our students joined 51 schools around the world in Cognita’s Light Up Learning initiative: Solar Buddy. Over the course of the day, the students created pieces of art to promote awareness that 20% of the Earth’s population lives in energy poverty; wrote letters to the children who will receive their gift of a solar light; they built the solar lights and made solar powered robots. Thank you so much for your help and support to take action and change, and in some cases, save children’s lives.
