Year 6 trip to Kanchanaburi
Year 6 traveled to Kanchanaburi. They visited Wat Poon cave temple, went on a boat ride on the River Kwai and visited Chungkai war cemetary.
The next day their adventures continued in Kanchanaburi with a trip to Hellfire Pass and the educational centre attached to it and learned a lot about the conditions in which the prisoners of war lived and worked to build the pass and railway. They had audio guides to help them understand the history of this place. Later they visited the Railway Centre and students used their knowledge to answer a questionnaire. They ended the day with some light shopping in town, crossing the bridge over the River Kwai and eating dinner on the river. What a memorable, thought-provoking trip.
