Year 7 residential trip to Chiang Rai

Team challenges for Year 7 were the order of the first day in Chiang Rai. The teams had to come up with team names and chants, then worked their way around 4 separate challenges; silent maze task where they led the ball through the maze without speaking, seesaw where they had to balance the beam, tyre puzzle where they had to use the 3 poles to get the tyres in the correct order and the cross the river challenge using blocks. Their competitive sides were definitely on show today.
Next up for Year 7 were bushcraft skills. The teams were set the challenge to set their own fire and cook an egg in a bamboo pot, they then had to build shelters from bamboo and grass. Great collaboration and creative ideas from everyone!
On day 2 they were trekking up into the hills. They have visited a hill tribe and asked them lots of questions to find out about life there. They also played a game of football with the local children. The children further tested their skills and determination in climbing, archery and Thai cooking!
On the last night it was a chance to take on the teachers during some exciting Sala games, with the Stick Game being extremely popular!
