Welcome from the Head of Secondary

A personal welcome

Thank you for visiting the St Andrews International School Green Valley Website.

May I extend a warm welcome to you and trust that you find the information about the Secondary School to be both informative and inspiring!

It is the role of myself and every teacher to help your child to develop and grow into a responsible, balanced, caring and knowledgeable young adult. We aim to achieve this through developing and nurturing each and every student through the broad and balanced curriculum that we offer.

At St Andrews, we pride ourselves on developing the whole child. Exam results are important but we also strive to ensure that each and every student is supported emotionally and physically so that they can achieve their best and develop into well rounded young adults.

Our pastoral system caters for each student and ensures that we know every student personally. We work with our students on ways to care for themselves and for others, as well as developing their resilience so that they continue to function effectively, even during challenging times.

Our broad and balanced curriculum enables our students to enjoy and develop their passions and interests in a wide variety of practical subjects such as Music, Drama, Design Technology, Art, Computing and Physical Education. We also focus on using our fantastic green outdoor environment to enhance our lessons so that students are learning practically instead of always being indoors and learning from a textbook.

The extra-curricular programme gives our students more opportunities to grow, learn and have fun. We have a strong sporting tradition in Football, Basketball and Swimming. There are opportunities for students to excel through drama, music and STEAM activities, as well as joining in community service and environmental initiatives. Our Youth Club provides students with a safe space to hang out and develop skills such as communication and independence, as well as opportunities to extend their friendship group.

Academically we have a robust curriculum that provides our students with everything they need to succeed and move on to the university of their choice. Our Year 7 – 9 students follow the National Curriculum; Year 10 and 11 follow the IGCSE and Years 12 and 13 follow the IB Diploma. Over the past 10 years, our IGCSE and IB exam results have consistently been the best in the area and are comparable to many of the bigger international schools in Bangkok.

At St Andrews Green Valley, we pride ourselves on being a high-achieving but also caring, community focused school. We select our teachers carefully so that we always put the student first. We believe that we offer a unique blend of experiences that allow all of our students to grow and develop to their maximum. If you would like to visit our school or have your child join us for a trial day, then you are very welcome. We would be delighted to meet you!

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact myself or our Admissions Team.
