Early Years Overview

Welcome to Early Years

As a boutique, family-style school, we believe that early years learning should be joyful, full of curiosity, and a little bit magical!

Our Early Years program follows the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum alongside the Primary Years Programme (PYP), providing a well-rounded, inquiry-based approach to early education.

The prime areas of learning include:

  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development – Building confidence, friendships, and independence.

  • Communication & Language – Developing strong listening and speaking skills.

  • Physical Development – Encouraging movement, coordination, and a healthy lifestyle.

Outdoor Exploration & Eco-Literacy
At Green Valley, the outdoors is a natural extension of learning. Through gardening, sustainability projects, and active play, children build confidence, curiosity, and care for the environment. They connect with nature daily while developing key skills and a lifelong love for learning beyond the classroom.

Play-Based & Experiential Learning
Our Early Years children learn through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. Our learning environments spark creativity, problem-solving, and curiosity. They help children build confidence, understand the world around them, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Emotional & Social Development
We nurture emotional well-being and social growth from the start. Through play and guidance, children learn to manage emotions, build empathy, and work with others. Our children develop confidence, resilience, and kindness that form the foundation for strong relationships in school and beyond.

Thai Language & Culture
From Pre-Nursery, children explore Thai language and culture through songs, dance, and storytelling. They join celebrations like Songkran and Loy Krathong, gaining hands-on understanding of Thailand’s rich heritage while building cultural awareness and a deeper connection to the world around them.

Themed Days
Each term, exciting themed days bring learning to life for our Early Years children. A favourite is Wheels Day, where the car park becomes a race track and children earn driver’s licenses. Our children create lasting memories while connecting classroom learning to the real world.

Facilities which inspire learning

Our spacious, bright, and natural Early Years areas have dedicated indoor and outdoor learning zones, providing the perfect environment for a safe, happy, and exciting experience for your child’s first fascinating steps in education. We believe children learn as much outside the classroom as they do inside, which is why our Early Years facilities are designed to make every experience a learning opportunity.

Some of our Early Years facilities include:

  • 🌿 Sensory Walls

  • 💦 Water Play area, sandpit and mud kitchen

  • 🧗 Climbing areas, including jungle gyms and rock features

  • 📚 Reading corners, role-play corners

  • 🏃‍♀️ Four dedicated playgrounds, including a bicycle racetrack

Meet the Head of Early Years

Hello, I’m Claire, Head of Early Years at St. Andrews Green Valley, and I’m so pleased to share a little about our wonderful Early Years program with you. Our goal is simple: to create a nurturing space where your child feels safe, happy, and excited to learn.

In Early Years, every child is seen and celebrated for who they are. With a caring team of teachers, we make sure each child feels supported as they explore, play, and grow. Through hands-on, play-based learning, we help children develop the skills they need for the future while making sure they have fun along the way.

Our outdoor spaces are a big part of this experience – they’re not just an extension of the classroom, but a place where children can explore, learn, and connect with nature in meaningful ways.

We’re so excited to be part of your child’s journey and can’t wait to welcome you both into our Early Years family!
